Hi, what happens if you disable this feature in WordPress settings and you enable the one in the plugin under General Settings?
Kind regards
Thanks for the quick reply, impressive.
So I did as suggested. I logout, get onto the other plugin, leave a comment, click submit. It did not accept my message and generate an error:
{“code”:”wp_die”,”message”:”Comments not allowed by a non-member.”,”data”:{“status”:500},”additional_errors”:[]}
It looks like there might be a plugin conflict somewhere. Please carry out the following troubleshooting steps.

Let me know how you go.
Thank you
I finally get around to do some testing.
– I disabled the WPSettings in Discussion “Users must be registered and logged in to comment”.
– As my regular setting, the “Members Must be Logged in to Comment” in SWPM is enabled.
– All plugins are deactivated except Nextgen Gallery(NGG) and SWPM
– Enter text in the comment field in a gallery in NGG and press enter. The above mentioned error message displays.
– I switch theme to Twenty Twenty and enter comment again. The same error message still displays.
My conclusion: the error is not caused by any other plugins or theme.
Can you please investigate?
Hi,
– All plugins are deactivated except Nextgen Gallery(NGG) and SWPM
What happens if you disable Nextgen Gallery?
Hi Mbrsolution,
I cannot deactivate NGG because the comment fields are from NGG. If it is deactivated, then it defeats the purpose.
I have submitted a message to the developers to investigate further your issue.
Thank you
The WordPress feature from the “Discussions” menu that you are talking about is a WordPress core feature. That has nothing to do with our plugin. We try not to touch or modify WordPress’s core feature like that.
When that feature is enabled, WordPress will handle it using the standard wp-login form.
Instead, you can disable that core wp feature and then try enabling the following checkbox inside simple membership plugin (if you want our plugin to handle that):
Members Must be Logged in to Comment
Hi @wpinsider-1,
That was what mbrsolution suggested me to do and I did. I disabled the wp discussion feature and enabled SWPM’s “Members Must be Logged in to Comment”. Upon entering a comment in NGG comment field, the forth error message displayed. I really want SWPM’s login screen there. Hence my request for help.
