Hello. I have been using the MailPoet Gutenberg editor for the last two newsletters we have sent out. I have two issues:

    1. Since switching to the Gutenberg editor, Open Rate has crashed from ~50% to ~1-2%
      • Perhaps this is related to how opens are tracked with emails generated from use of the new Gutenberg editor experience?
    2. To test these deliverability issues, I tried sending a test email to mail-tester.com, however, the Gutenberg editor experience does not seem to have the same preview and “Send to email” functionality shown in the support document.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi @roymckenzie,

Currently, the MailPoet plugin only supports the MailPoet Email editor and not Gutenberg. Gutenberg is only available to use as the form editor. Can you confirm how you enabled Gutenberg for the email editor exactly?

Please also include a screenshot of what you’re seeing on the editor screen.

The Gutenberg editor is visible. The dropdown in the Newsletter email option shows “Create using the new email editor (Alpha)”. (Screenshot)

And I was finally able to find the “Send a test” email option in the MailPoet Gutenberg editor. (Screenshot)

I think there is something going on with the new editor which causes inaccurate open rate stats

    Hi Roy,

You’re right about that. We can confirm that the emails created with the new email editor (Alpha) are currently sent without the open tracking pixel, so open events are not tracked directly. This explains the very low open rate stats you’re seeing.

We’ve forwarded this to our devs so we can consider fixing it.

Can confirm this is resolved in a recent update to MailPoet and we are now seeing normal results for open tracking reports. Will mark as resolved. Thank you!
