Primary Sidebar Color Problem

    So I thought I had the color done in my Primary Sidebar, but when I had text to the body of the three column layout it extends the length of the page and the Primary Sidebar color stops. Here is the code I have used.

    Primary Sidebar:
    /* set full primary sidebar background */
    .s1 {
    background: #f3fbc4 !important;
    }

    Secondary Sidebar:
    /* set full secondary sidebar background */
    .s2, .main {
    background: #ffffff !important;
    }

    What should I try?
