In SHARE settings I have enabled the PRINT button

When I select the PRINT button the PRINT PAGE opens but with a message “Print Preview Failed”; this occurs each time and on any page

    Could you please help?

  • Do you have a wordpress.com blog or a self-hosted WordPress site? On a self-hosted WP site there isn’t a Share settings section.
    Contact WordPress.com for support. Thanks

Thank you for your prompt response, I have a self hosted WordPress site; I will contact WordPress.com accordingly

If you have a self-hosted WP site don’t bother to contact wordpress.com.
Where do the Share settings come from? Are you using a plugin of some kind for printing?
Can you post the link to your site (URL) ?

On the WP DASHBOARD side bar there is a SETTINGS tab. In the SETTINGS tab there a SHARING tab.

When I select SHARING it comes up with PUBLICIZE under this there are various share buttons and one of these is PRINT.

When I enable PRINT and select PRINT on any page I always receive the PRINT PREVIEW FAILED message

I am not using a plugin

Thank you for your kind continuing assistance with this matter

In the SETTINGS tab there a SHARING tab.

Not in WordPress by default. Is this a wordpress.com site or a self-hosted WordPress install?

It is a self hosted WP site

Here’s how a default WordPress Settings tab looks like. No Sharing tab whatsoever. There’s one on wordpress.com blogs so… Either you’re on wordpress.com or you’re using a plugin.

Sorry for the confusion and your right about the plugin; I am using a self hosted WP site

When I downloaded WP it came with Jetpack which includes the SHARING and PUBLICIZE plugins, I thought this was standard with WP sorry again!

What is the best way forward?

The best way is to contact the Jetpack support forum. Firts check if someone else had a similar problem. Your problem might be already solved.

Would you recommend removing Jetpack and installing other plugins as an option?

I don’t know which of the Jetpack features you need (and use) so i can’t tell if you should remove it or not.
If you’re interrested in the print option, you can look for print plugins. I used Print Friendly and PDF button plugin and it works just fine. You could try it out.
