    I am wondering if it is either possible to remove the “required” element from the Privacy Policy or have this already ticked as accepted. I appreciate that the statement can be removed altogether, but as it is intended that on registration, members will be added to a mailing list, I would prefer they do see the notice and are aware if they do read the statement.

    Thank you for your question.

    At the moment, the Privacy Policy checkbox in WP User Manager is designed as a required field to ensure compliance and explicit consent from users, it can’t be pre-checked or made optional through the plugin settings.

    The only built-in alternative is to disable the field entirely, but as you mentioned, this would remove the notice altogether. If your goal is to keep the notice visible while customizing the behavior of the checkbox, this would require a code-level customization.
