I’ve found a bug that is making this functionality not work correctly, Im in the process of fixing it now and should have a new version with some bug fixes out soon.
For the next release this is how it should work:
If you click on the Options button on the top of the admin menu then click on Setting you will see an option “Private File Post Viewing” uncheck all the users you don’t want to view private mDocs files. Then you can set specific files to private which will hide them from all users that don’t have private access.
should be resolved in version 3.0.13
It still doesn’t work – private files are open for viewing and download for all user roles no matter what setting you use…
I’m running latest version of both WP and Memphis Library
To hide files from users you have to goto Manage File > File Status > Hidden
This will hide the file, changing the post to private will not hide the file.
You can also uncheck the checkbox Downloadable by Non Members
Or goto setting under hide things check the checkbox All Files or All Files: (Non Members)
Hi bhaldie,
I was looking for some functionality where files could be accessed depending on usr roles, so that all files are there in the list overview, but access to them; (pre-view/download/etc.) was user role dependent.
I guess the Memphis Document Library is not for me themn.
Thanks.
