Thank you for reaching out. Currently, the requested feature of email notifications with private messaging system is unavailable. However, we have analyzed and added the feature to our road-map list. It will be included in one of our upcoming versions.
Note that the features implementation is driven by user demand and on first come first basis, so we cannot give timeline at this point. We will mention the feature in the change log on our plugin page at ww.wp.xz.cn, once its available.

I agree that this will be a very nice to be added in private messaging system because right now a user must login each time in order to see if there is a new message from another user…it is a bit annoying.
So it would be nice to include email notification with private messaging system.

Regarding my request i have managed to solve it with the following way:
I purchased yesterday your custom profile tabs add-on (https://profilegrid.co/extensions/custom-user-profile-tabs-content/) and then i added a new tab called “Request Finance/Cooperation”.
In the new tab i have added a new contact form 7 and i have managed to get dynamically the user profile email from profileGrid meta field using php coding in functins.php and Dynamically Set the Recipient (To) Email Address in Contact Form 7…..:)
Also, i have keep your private messaging system in my implementation because it is a nice feature too:)

I absolutely agree with @ipomonis
Something like this should definitely be high up on the requested features list.
The private messaging is a great feature to have, but without notifying the user about a new received message via email, it is absolutely pointless.
It just means that I miss every single message, because I’m not logged in, so I don’t even know that I’ve received a message. What’s the point of having a messaging system like this?

Yes, we are keeping this task on priority and it will be part of our upcoming development schedule. While exact timeline for its release is difficult to provide at this stage, 3 to 4 weeks is realistic enough projection.
