• Hello team,
I am keen to buy the pro version of this plugin but would appreciate clearing my doubts on some of the following areas:

    1) via backend user control, will we be able to create super admin user and non-super admin users?

    2) does the login url to backend remains same for all? ie;admin and non-admin (contributor) type url? asking as i have custom admin login url instead of the usual wordpress url to block spammers. If the same url has to be given now to contributor backend user, then the url goes out to a few more limited people. Would prefer a separate login url for non-admin users.

    3) Will this plugin cause any performance impact? Any stats on performance impact and how many concurrent user logins are tested via this plugin etc?

    4) Lastly, i need to create contributors who have access to multiple post categories. Hope this can be done smoothly and i think you also have a role capability creation which i saw in the free version but i couldnt see the area to map post categories. Basically, for me, i need contributors who can only contribute content to multiple post categories without being able to publish them. The publishing will be controlled from our backoffice team after posted content is reviewed.

    Thanks,
    parag

  • Hi Parag,

    Thank you for your questions.

    1. WordPress does not have a concept of “super admin”. It is all about how many capabilities user has. You can manage capabilities with basic AAM version on Capabilities tab. However you can get AAM Role Filter that allows you to setup who can manage other administrators. This extension does not allow users that have lower “Level” capability to manage users with higher “Level” capability. For more information about WordPress Roles and Capabilities check this article.

    2. Login URL has to remain the same. WordPress website does not get any secure with all these tricks like different login URL, hiding WordPress version etc.

    3. It is all based on your website. AAM has internal caching mechanism and it is optimized as much as it possible to support large amount of data. It all depends on how you configure it.

    4. You can manage access to categories only with AAM Plus Package extension. For more information about that, check this article.

    Thank you,
    Vasyl

Thanks Vasyl. With AAM Role filter, is it also possible to control the following two things:
    1) administrator having access to install/uninstall plugins
    2) administrator having access to edit/view plugin files

I think i will go for the filter extension.

    thanks & regards,
    parag

    Hi Parag,

You do not need to have any extension for those two things. Just manipulate with capabilities to restrict access to those features. Learn more about WordPress Roles & Capabilities here.

Also just AAM Role Filter extension does not give you an ability to manage access to categories.

Thanks Vasyl for patiently responding to my queries.

So to understand correctly, do i need the AAM role filter to block a lower capabilities admin from deleting the higher capabilities admin (super admin)? I see that only wordpress multi-site allows super-admin and if websites are not multi-site then your plugin is good to create a differentiate rights admin roles & users.

As for getting the ability to manage access to multiple post categories, it would be which extension?

    Hello Vasyl,

Some crisis as i have installed your plugin onto by website. I noticed that after the installation, my administrator users (3 of us) are no more able able to create Posts & Pages as the default wordpress editor framework (tinymce) doesn’t appear and the text comes white over white background.

All of these administrator userids are old ids with lots of pages & posts to their credit. Is it that it is not able to allow page or post creation now because of this plugin?

    Please revert. Its urgent. Thanks.

    regards,
    parag

    Hello Vasyl,
Please ignore my last query. The issue was linked to other plugin. However, would appreciate if you can help answer some of my earlier queries on the pro version (repeated below)
