Hi I am working in the Japanese restaurant directory area here https://ramentokio.com/ubicacion/

But I have the problem that I have extracted the restaurants and the URL address is for example:

    https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/p/AF1QipObkVi5ctVz37q9ihLvSKeThaduXVomeSHI88Jh=w426-h240-k-no

Of course when using WP All Import to import the restaurants I can not get it to be displayed as the featured image, of course I do not want to do the so-called “hotlinking” so I have installed the plugin “Auto Upload Images” with the idea that I can update the “sites” and automatically download the featured image correctly.

I think that more or less the idea of the problem is explained, if you want to import a database of restaurants with the featured image of this type of URL I think there must be a way but that’s why I consult.

Thank you very much for the help

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

as far as I know, there is no tool that will do that 100% automatically.

    With GeoDirectory, you need to:

1 have the images saved in a folder on your computer
2 add the name of the file for each picture to the listing on the CSV file
3 import the CSV file and the plugin tells you where to upload the images via FTP

You should ask support to WP All Import staff if it’s possible to download image from a URL and upload it on your server during import. I don’t think it’s possible.

You should also consider that potentially, you are infringing on someone’s copyright.

Thank you very much for answering me, of course I don’t want to do hotlinking I just want to use royalty free images like for example pixabay image bank.

I have purchased with license the plugin “Magic Post Thumbnail PRO” latest Version 3.3.10

It has an option that you can check “Sites” and put a featured image extracted for example from pixabay.

For example on pages works perfectly “https://ramentokio.com/te-japones/” you can see the featured images on each page link at the bottom. It adds it automatically.

But it strikes me or maybe I do not see it … that in the added sites of restaurants does not have a default option that is “Set featured image” as any normal wordpress page … if I had that natural option the plugin could automatically add featured image to the 2,800 restaurants that I have idea of uploading and the photo would automatically add pixabay.

    Hello There,

You have all listings are imported via WP ALL Import? Without valid image extension it don’t download image to assign the listing.

If you are using WP ALL Import and all images contains similar url like https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/p/AF1QipObkVi5ctVz37q9ihLvSKeThaduXVomeSHI88Jh=w426-h240-k-no then with use of snippet images can be downloaded.

Could you please open a support ticket on our site so we can help further? http://wpgeodirectory.com/support/

Please add “FAO Kiran” and the our team will flag it for me.

Thank you, I have sent the message to support at http://wpgeodirectory.com/support/.

I think the most optimal option is that using the Magic Post Thumbnail PRO plugin that has the ability to add featured image on the pages, it has the option to add on sites but it is curious that the way to set featured image is not like that of a normal page and so I think it is not able to perform the function correctly because otherwise I meet all the requirements and everything is updated to the latest version.

    I am looking into there.

    Thank You,
    Kiran

FYI for anyone else reading this, you can currently import images using a full URL as a reference in our own importer, and also you can set this to use the image as external also, please see: https://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/article/242-how-to-format-the-csv-file-for-importing-listing-images

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
