Just updated TablePress from 1.0 to 1.1 by downloading the new version and copying the new files into the existing Plugin-Directory.
(Auto updating ist not possible because of security restrictions).

After that, we get the following message in the TablePress Dashboard:

Danke, dass du TablePress auf Version 1.1 aktualisiert hast!

    This Page Cannot Be Displayed

Based on your organization’s security policies, this web site ( http://dev.tablepress.org/plugin/update/1.0/1.1/de_DE/ ) has been blocked because it has been determined to be a security threat to your computer or the organization’s network. Access could also be blocked because this request came from an unrecognized or unauthorized machine.

Question: is it necessary to allow http://dev.tablepress.org/ for the upgrade to V. 1.1?
This did not seem necessary after installing 1.0.

    Best regards, MB

    Hi,

thanks for your question and sorry for the trouble!

No, don’t worry, this is not critical. The plugin only loads a short message from that link to tell the user what’s new in this version.

You do not have to allow access to that URL, everything will work just fine.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Hi and thanks for the quick answer!

Yes, everything does seem to work just fine. It just seems like a bit of an irritation to have that message in the Dashboard (especially on a multi-site installation), with the need to turn off that message once in every blog…

I can understand your reasons for doing this, but if there is a better solution, I’d encourage that 😉

Other than that we are very happy with TablePress so far!
One would wish that all software was a bit like this.

    Best regards, MB

    Hi,

good to hear that everything works, and that you are happy with TablePress 🙂

Yeah, I can see how turning off that message on every blog of a Multisite can be stressful. It might then be the better approach to just allow access to the TablePress server, at least for the time of the plugin update, to prevent this message from coming up. That would save you all of those clicks.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
