Hi!
I need to know: what plugin are you using to track “likes”? Since it’s not a standard WP feature I suppose you’re using one…
Hi Lopo,
it’s part of the theme we use and this function is not exactly well documented. I don’t even know how to turn it off or how to reset the “likes”.
The theme is this:
https://themeforest.net/item/vangard-a-theme-for-freelancers-and-agencies/18396136
…and here’s an example of a blog created with that theme:
http://vangard.edge-themes.com/blog/standard/
Is that of any help to you?
Hi,
you should try to contact the authors and ask them what’s the name of the custom field they use to store the likes… then you should add it in the textbox called Do not copy these fields under SettingsβDuplicate Post and save the options: subsequent clonings should not copy the fields, so the copies would have no likes counted.
Feel free to tell them to contact me if they need a better explanation!
Hope this helps!
Thanks Lopo for your dedicated support. I’ll write them and let you know how it went.
Hi! I have the same problem too. I have WP Ulike Plugin. Will you tell me where to find the fields that shouldn’t be included in the duplication?
Reporting back for everyone using the same theme and plugin combo, coming here through Google. The name of the field to exclude is:
_edgt-like
Exclude it as Lopo described above and the “Likes” will get no longer duplicated.
Hi @ivg,
I’ve looked at the code of the Ulike plugin and it seems the custom field they’re using is called _liked. You can try with that, but I can’t be sure it’s the only one involved, so I suggest you to contact the authors of the plugin to ask if it’s right!
Hope this helps
Hi @sharkster4000,
thanks for updating! It will be helpful for people with a similar configuration.
Glad you solved the issue!
Hi @ivg,
I see you’ve edited your last message, is everything OK now?
No, this field doesn’t fit. Support WP Ulike 2 days is not responding.
