It looks like you’ve either disabled group forums, or you haven’t set them up correctly. If you don’t plan to use forums, click Continue. Otherwise, ensure that your forum setup is complete, and then return to this page.
I activated the forum through the buddypress settings and it did not say there was a problem so i don’t know why it says it is not setup properly. I am wondering if it needs an older version of buddypress forum installed

I’m thinking it might be the file because I tried importing into phpBB and could get the members in but not the forum again. I was also going to try to set debug to true in wp-config.php.
Xaviote, any insight on making sure the JSON file(s) are legit? I tried an online validator and got some parse error but had no idea how to fix it. Made me feel nice and dumb.
It must be the same problem @brian – it seems so similar. I also got the message that the discussions (not group discussions) was imported successfully yet I can not find where they are. I tried the page I created for them to go to and nothing.
Thanks for the link, I have not opened the my JSON files and explored because I really am dumb when it comes to code haha! But I will see if I can see if I have the brace errors.
I thought it could be that we need to install an older version of buddypress like 1.5 and try uploading again then. I found this article which outlines the step by step process and there are a lot of comments in which one mentions about the version of buddypress – http://teleogistic.net/code/wordpresswordpress-mu/import-from-ning/
Problem is you can only download 1.8 from buddypress now.
