Problem in Deferring and Layout problem

2 very quick problems –

1. When I use defer inn Non-critical script execution mode, the pages dont display. But turning it off slows my site. Can you please look into this?

2. The basic gallery cannot be divided into two columns in the mobile view. How can that be done. I tried setting the margin and the boxes become small, but the float isnt being set.
