    Hello,

I am writing to you because I had issues with my polylang plugin for 3-4 months now…
I have several languages on my homepage:
    http://www.dynseo.com

but there is a temporary redirection type 302 to page http://www.dynseo.com/fr_ca, the language for French Canada, but it’s a page we barely use !
I ‘ve posted messages in several forums no one has answered me,
the people that develop the theme we use say to contact polylang plugin.

    How is it possible ?

    Many thanks for your help,

    Justine

PS: I don’t know if it’s relevant, but I used to have WPML widget, but i have deleted all files.

    Hi!

You probably chose to detect the browser preferred language. In that case, Polylang redirects to fr_ca every new visitor if fr-CA is their preferred language. If you want to avoid this, just uncheck this option. After this, Polylang will redirect every new visitor to the home page in the default language

    Hello;
Thank you for your help !
    Effectively the option was checked.

But there is still a temporary redirection 302 to the page http://www.dynseo.com/fr_ca….

What can i do more ?

    Many thanks,

    Justine

This could be because this is your default language or because it is the last language in which you browsed your site (Polylang keeps the memory of the last browsed language).

Could you try to delete your cookies? When I visit your website, I am correctly redirected to the last browsed language.

Many thanks for all your help !
I ‘ve deleted them, but when i go to this website to test the redirection :
    http://www.redirection-web.net/

They say the temporary redirection still exists to : http://www.dynseo.com/fr_ca.

    Anyother idea ?

    Many many thanks,
    Justine

Yes, there is a redirection. But only people having previously visited your site in fr_CA will be redirected to this page.

You have 4 languages, each having its home page:
    http://www.dynseo.com/fr_ca/
    http://www.dynseo.com/en/
    http://www.dynseo.com/it/
    http://www.dynseo.com/fr/

Thus the page http://www.dynseo.com/ has no content and needs to be redirected to one of your home pages. Since you unchecked the browser preference option, every new visitor is redirected to the homepage in the default language. Returning visitors are redirected to the homepage in the last language they browsed.

If you don’t like this and want no direction at all, you need to make sure http://www.dynseo.com/ gets some content. You can achieve that by hiding the language code for the default language in Polylang settings. Combined with the browser preference option kept unchecked, there will be no more redirection. Of course, if you choose this option, the url of all your pages in the default language will be changed.
