    Hi @duboi,

Could you start by verifying that the Site Language (Settings > General in WordPress) is already set to French?

If so: could you navigate to Dashboard > Updates from the left-hand WordPress Menu, and scroll down to the bottom of this page until you find a “Update Translation” button? Click that button to update your translation files.

The documents should be correctly translated upon doing so. And for the Cookie Banner to appear in French as well, please navigate to Complianz > Cookie Banner and click “Reset to Default” once, which will now use the French defaults (as long as your Site Language is French and the translation files are up-to-date).

Hope it helps, but let me know if further assistance is required.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

I had already checked and unfortunately the problem did not come from this parameter.
I have the same problem on another website.
the plugin has a description in French when you want to activate it. Once installed the plugin runs in English. Do you have a solution?

    Hi @duboi,

I’ve created a test environment where I started out with English as the Site Language and generated the Cookie Policy, then changed the Site Language to French. At first the document was still in English, and instantly after clicking “Update Translations” it gets updated to French.

I’ve recorded a short video to detail the process, please find it here. Can you attempt these exact steps on your end as well?

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @duboi,

We haven’t heard from you in a while, is the issue resolved with the steps my colleague provided? We are happy to help you further.

    hello
no, your extension works on some of my sites and others do not.
When it does, I install another plugin.
I don’t have time to investigate further. This problem is strange

    Hi @duboi,

We’d be happy to assist further, although I couldn’t immediately work out from your response which of the provided steps you had already attempted.

Did you try applying the steps as shown in the video I provided? Is there any particular step that differs on your end?

Seeing as this works as expected on your other site(s), as well as in my own tests, the behavior does appear to be isolated to this one environment. My suspicion is still that it has to do with the translation files not being updated here.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

I followed the video procedure but wordpress is already installed in my language.
I deleted and reinstalled the translation files, the problem is still the same

    Hi @duboi,

You could try replacing both the .mo/.po localization files with the versions attached below, these are the latest ones. Upload the files found on the WeTransfer link below to the folder /wp-content/languages/plugins/ and make sure to overwrite the old ones.

    Download: https://we.tl/t-FQNTiiUeAW

If that doesn’t work either: I would recommend checking for the difference(s) between this site, and your other sites where the translations do work correctly. If we know the difference, that’ll point us in the right direction as to a solution.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    HELLO,

can you send me the link, https://we.tl/t-FQNTiiUeAW

    it is expired

i have the same problems with your plugin

it work only on a part of my sites
have you made any progress on these problems?

    Hi @duboi,

There are no currently known issues with translations on our end.

I had provided a link with the latest versions of the French translations, so that you could replace your current files with the most recent ones.

Does your issue only occur after switching from French to English, for example, and not when installing the plugin in French by default? And does the issue apply to the Cookie Banner texts only, or also to Legal Document texts?

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi @duboi,

Upon switching Site Language to the “new” language, please start by updating your translation files under Dashboard > Updates > Update Translations.

    Kind regards, Jarno
