I VERY much hope someone can assist me. I’ve taken over maintaining the website for a Non Profit organization so I’m just learning WordPress as I go. I would REALLY like to be able to use the documentation but apparently I don’t know how to use it. My current problem is the position of the titles within the Photo Gallery slideshow widget that is in the side bar. I can find how to set time, fade, shuffle etc but I see nothing about the titles or how to position them bottom center. For some reason they all appear smack dab in the center of each slide show image.
I found documentation but it seems more of a reference than informational. Apparently the information that I need is located in section 5.6.10 “Editing Title Position” but that’s all I can find. NOT how to actually EDIT TITLE POSITION! I don’t know where to go from here to find the information. Please, if you can help, I’d truly appreciate it.

    @imaquila,

Thanks for contacting us. Please go to Global Options>Shortcode defaults>Title Position and make changes here. Thanks.

I very much appreciate your reply and I have tried that but it seems that only the very first image in the slideshow reliably follows that setting and nearly all the rest bounce the title position back to the center of the image. It looks like a bug to me. Occasionally the position will drop to the bottom of the image but it is a very low percentage and even those images are not consistent. The same image may display the title in the correct, bottom position once and later display again but in the center of the image.

Is there another setting that I should be looking at?

    Please check
Title position starts at bottom on very first slide then stays mostly in center of each image only occasionally going back to the bottom. Would greatly appreciate any assistance.

    Hi @imaquila!

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier.

Could you please try to apply the following solution and see if it fixes the problem? Open Photo Gallery Options > Global Options > General tab and find Preload images option.

When you enable this and set Count of images to 5, for instance, the problem will be resolved.

    Thanks! Have a wonderful day!

I very much appreciate your effort to help but I’ve found the settings you described. I checked Preload images andset it to 0 (all images) but still VERY VERY slow to start the rotation. I was impatient and clicked on the dots to determine if title position “stays put” but it’s still bouncing around although this time it *seemed* like position was bottom (per my setting) a little more often this time.
Please note that my problem is specifically with the Photo Gallery slideshow in the sidebar (if you use the like above, you need to scroll down to view it.)

Thanks so much for your time in trying to resolve this.

    Hi @imaquila!

Let me firstly inform, that our development team is currently working on this problem. They will release an update, where this bug is fixed.

Meanwhile, could you please disable shuffling for your Photo Gallery Slideshow view? You can do that by editing the shortcode of your gallery and setting Enable Shuffle to No. This will resolve the problem.

    Cheers!

Thanks for your continued efforts. I have disabled the Shuffle option using the shortcode tab but it has made no difference. Title position is still bouncing but it appears to be in the correct position about half the time now. That is an improvement of sorts. I’m pleased to hear that someone is working on it. Please let me know if I can do anything to help them identify where the problem is.

    Thanks!

    Hey @imaquila!

The problem will be fixed in one of the next few updates of Photo Gallery plugin. Our development team is working to find the most optimal solution to this problem.

So please keep your Photo Gallery updated and you’ll find the problem fixed eventually.
    Thanks! Have a great day!

Surely the optimum solution to this problem is to make the 3 x 3 grid work as it is designed to do?

    Has this been fixed yet?
When can we expect it to be fixed?

    Have a great day!

    Hello, @ianmccauley2014!

This problem has been fixed in Photo Gallery 1.3.43 (free) / 2.3.43 (Pro) versions. Could you please make sure the latest version of the plugins is installed to your website?

Please let us know in case you will still face the issue after updating, and post the link to your gallery page, if so.

Thanks in advance! Have a wonderful day!

    Hi,

I have the 2.3.42 version and licence until November. I have not been notified of an auto update. So, how do I update the plugin manually to test for this bugfix? Why hasn’t this plugin automatically notified me of an update – all other plugins do so?

Thanks for the update, looking forward to testing it.
