Is he sure that he logs in with the right account and that is account balance/credit card is valid and he has the money to pay for the subscription ?

Yes. He is sure using the valid account with enough balance to pay for the subscription. The thing is he did not get the paypal page but got the error immediately after click the renew button.

Can he reproduce this issue ? By this I mean that he should go to that page again, enter his details and see if it works or not.

Yes, he is able to reproduce the problem. And I have one more subscriber reported it.

Update to the latest version (1.6.1) and ask him to try again. We fixed a bug where exactly what you explained was happening for users with IPv6 format IP addresses.
