• Hi guys,

This has been my lightbox gallery of choice for years now, and in all that time nothing has come close for ease of use.

There’s one persistent and recurring annoyance though.

Google Pagespeed insights is always advising to ‘remove render blocking scripts’.

After going through many render blocking and caching plugins, some of which (sort of) work, some of which require a 30 minute dash around the hosted files to remove all the deposited gunk, and some of which were useless, I’m now toying with one that loads js asyncronously, which seems to work fine – except for Lightbox Plus Colorbox.

I’ve got all my galleries set to load in the blackbox overlay, but as soon as I activate the asyncronous JS plugin, the images load as if on a new page instead of in a lightbox.

The only relevant js file I can see in the Google Pagespeed Insights advice is the one:

    http://mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/lightbox-plus/js/jquery.colorbox.1.5.9-min.js?ver=1.5.9

…which I added to the ‘exclude’ list within the plugin, but still no joy.

Should there be another, less obvious js file that should be excluded too?

Or is there a setting within Lightbox Plus Colorbox itself that I’m missing?
