• Hello, I have a problem on a site with the option “Ask search engines not to index this site”. I didn’t check it and yet, regularly, the box ticks itself and my site is no longer indexed. Do you have a solution to not have this problem? I have done hundreds of WordPress sites and this is the first time I have encountered this problem. Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi! Could it be that an SEO plugin is taking control of that checkbox?

I understand what you mean, but just to make sure… would it be possible to disable the plugin to confirm that the plugin has nothing to do?

Also, does this problem happen consistently? Or is it random? Do you know when the problem started happening?

Also, what’s the version of WordPress? Because of the message, I imagine is an old one, right? The current dashboard looks like this.

AIOSEO dev here. I can tell you that we never change that setting ourselves.

thank you for your feedback. I think I have a lead on this problem. I created the site on a development url, in which I seem to remember having checked this option of non-indexing of the site by robots… then I redirected this url to the new one, which is now online . Anyway, I wonder if it’s not the development url option that comes back to activate… it seems strange to me but that’s all I see
