Good morning, when UpdraftPlus makes a backup copy and sends information to the administrator’s email there is an error in the encoding one of the Polish letter “ó”.

I have information in the emaile:

Kopia: Wojewódzki Inspektorat Ochrony Środowiska w Bydgoszczy (UpdraftPlus 1.24.1) instead of the correct site name Wojewódzki.

The strange thing is that when I correct the site name again (first set o, then i set ó and apply changes on site) for the next UpdraftPlus update, the emails come with the correct name, but after plugin update to new version i again have wrong enconding and recive Wojewódzki.

I also uninstall UpdraftPlus and make w clean install with new settings but the problem still persists. Other plugins that send me email from site they don’t have this problem and display the site name correctly.

Can you take me through the steps you use to rectify the situation?

when there is a problem with character encoding i go to WordPress/Settings/General and i change “Site title” from “Wojewódzki” to new name “Wojewodzki” and apply new settings, after that i change again site title but this time from “Wojewodzki” to new correct title “Wojewódzki” and save settings. All next backups have sent me now email with correct letter encoding until next UpdraftPlus plugin update.

Thank you for this. I will pass this onto our development team as you should not have to keep changing this manually.
