    Hey guys,

I’ve spent a lot of time reading the documentation and different tutorials on how to get this to work but I’m afraid I’m missing something.

I have enabled E-Commerce and Enhanced E-Commerce tracking in our Google Analytics property.

The tracking code is added via Google Tag Manager and I made sure to have “Enable Enhanced Ecommerce Features” set to “True” and checked “Use Data Layer”. The tag fires on All Pages.

I added the plugin Google Tag Manager for WordPress and configured the Data Layer through the settings available here.

I confirmed that the Data Layer was readily available in the DOM for each pages, especially the product pages.

In the WooCommerce Settings > Integration > Google Analytics section, I added the GA ID, Domain Name, then checked the following options: “Enable Universal Analytics”, “Anonymise IP addresses”, “Track 404”, “Purchase Transactions”, “Add to cart events”, “Enable enhanced eCommerce”, “Remove from Cart Events”, “Product Impressions From Listing Pages”, “Product Clicks from Listing Pages”, “Product Detail Views” and “Checkout Process Initiated”.

However, I keep getting zero events in Google Analytics, zero product performance, niet, nada.

I can see visitors browsing the site, but a grand total of zero events.

    Can anybody help?

    Thank you!

  • yeah since the latest release, it seems they broke something. I get traffic info, but no ‘transaction’ data.

    Hi @pogle & @thisisbbc

I tested this today and it appears to be working at expected:

Can you confirm you’re testing in an incognito window while not logged in? The plugin doesn’t track transactions by admins logged into the WP Admin.

Well I’m not sure what’s changed on my end then. I don’t understand how I’d check it in incognito mode while not logged in. I’m running version 1.4.22. I’ve got my Google Analytics ID set (as it’s always been) in the settings page of the plugin with all the relevant boxes checked. I’m receiving other analytics, but just not any conversion or transaction data anymore: https://www.screencast.com/t/dk7s1bAf

Do I need to include the Global Site Tag Gtag.js for google analytics in my header.php file to make this work?

    Hi @pogle

    >Do I need to include the Global Site Tag Gtag.js for google analytics in my header.php file to make this work?

No, adding the Google Analytics ID to the plugin’s settins is all that is necessary. Adding another instance will cause duplicate information to be sent to GA.

I don’t understand how I’d check it in incognito mode while not logged in

The instruction I gave was specific to testing orders to see if they show in GA. The Google Analytics plugin does not track purchases made by admins logged into the WP Admin. When testing purchases, checkout as a non-admin or guest using an incognito window to see the transactions in Google Analytics.

I’m receiving other analytics, but just not any conversion or transaction data anymore: https://www.screencast.com/t/dk7s1bAf

What page are you viewing in Google Analytics to show that information? The screenshot didn’t incluced the navigation tree on the left so if you can provide me with the steps to get to that page in GA, I’ll be able to take a closer look.

    Thanks,

Sorry, here’s a better screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/gpBwVxCH showing no transaction or revenue data. We’ve had daily sales mostly since this stopped working for me over a month ago. Here are my settings in the plugin: https://www.screencast.com/t/h474uIhFwUY (with real Google Analytics ID)

    Hi @pogle

This is probably something specific to the site. Here I show recently tracked transactions from that page:

    https://d.pr/i/5tKIeI

Which payment gateway are you using and can you confirm the payment gateway uses the details order received/thank you page?

Try switching back to a default theme like Twenty Twenty and disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce, WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration, and a working payment gateway ( like Stripe ) to see if this resolves the issue. Here is a link that better outlines that process:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-self-service-guide/#section-4

If this fixes the issue, then re-enable each plugin one at a time, then the theme, until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.
