Problem with index.htm and index.php

    Hi, thanks in advance for spending your time with me. I have installed wordpress in the main root of my domain (http://www.navonaantiquariato). I have installed a theme that MUST have wordpress installed in the main root. Now I would like to start the domain with a flash intro once you type the url http://www.navonaantiquariato.com. I’ve made the flash intro and embedded it in a file called “index.htm”. This flash intro ends with an icon “entra” (means enter in Italian) that point to http://www.navonaantiquariato.com/index.php. I thought that url opened wordpress but it opens always the main root with the flash animation. There’s a way to make appears the flash intro and only when click the icon “enter” enter into wordpress??????

    you can NOT run 2 index files in the root

    I have never heard of a theme that has to be run in the root

    What was wrong with my reply I wrote about the similar post founded in this forum? Why you deleted it? I wrote something that has annoyed you?

    Samboll thanks a lot for your reply. I bought a theme from theme forest and I’ve tried to load wordpress in another folder but believe me doing this I lose the right layout as the author told me. She sayd her theme automatically creates a dynamic page as Home……….

    So the only thing I can do is to leave the flash intro into the root directory of my domain and make a redirect to another domain that contains (in the root directory) wordpress??????????? No other solutions?

    Samboll I know you will delete this post so that nobody can see it but I would like to tell you something. First of all I want to thank you for your support. I didn’t pay you but you have still replied to my post. Second thing I’m sorry but I wrote a second post that is disappeared so I though you deleted it. Third thing it is not true that you can’t run two index in the same root. I’ve found the solution right here in your forum.

    See changeset #9203. Replace the green code as seen in #9203 with the red code, in your /wp-includes/canonical.php file.

    you seem to have some misconceptions. Why would I delete this post? I’m glad you found an answer and it may help others. I’m not infallible and do not know everything there is to know, so thanks for the education on this.
