Clear the cache if you have WP-Super Cache plugin or similar installed.
Or check if you are editing the same widget which you are viewing in frontend. Sometimes there are many widget zones and you could edit one widget (for example homepage widget zone) but checking another (for example sidebar widget zone).

I have no idea what was the cause.

My loging / logout text shows up with bullets.
Is there a way to remove the bullets ?
