No, it’s not normal for an API key to disappear. Are you sure you are logged in to the same Mailchimp account?
In your WordPress admin, under MC4WP > Other, can you set it to “log everything”, then test the form, and then check the log. Does it show a success message in the log? Then the form is working properly (meaning the API key still exists).
If under MC4WP > Form > Settings double opt-in is turned on, the subscriber won’t show up in the Mailchimp list until the confirmation link is clicked in the email.
Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!
Hello again,
I have an API Key in Mailchimp WordPress, and I’ve noticed it’s linked to the Mailchimp platform externally. The issue is that even though I’ve added an email to subscribe, it simply doesn’t update the database. Moreover, on the external Mailchimp platform, there isn’t a created KEY.
This might be because the client is using a different account than the one that’s connected.

If you can’t see the API key in the Mailchimp account, the API key in your WordPress is either not valid anymore or is directing to another Mailchimp account. I recommend you make a new API key and use the new key instead.
