problem with project image size

Hi!
I’ve been using the plugin to create the staff’s list in our laboratory. Each student is listed as a “project”. My problem is that the images are not matching the size of the square surrounding them when the page first loads. when you hit refresh this problem is resolved and the images changes it’s size to take up the whole space. However, the average user won’t just hit refresh upon entering the page, so the site’s visitors would probably won’t see the images as they are meant to be seen.
I’d love to get some guidance in this issue.
