    Hi,

I’ve already given up with using Twitter on a content lock system, as according to most plugin developers (those that will admit to it that is), Twitter is no longer shareable through these systems – you just click to share, cancel out of the share, and the content is visible.

    Which brings us to Facebook.

Most of the systems are having a little success with Facebook Likes, but in general, it’s far too haphazard as to whether the post actually gets ‘liked’ or not. Which is why I was drawn here as I noticed that there’s a Share option.

However, clicking on the ‘Share’ button to open unlocked content just gives the same response as on the Twitter option above – ie you click to share, all looks good as you prepare to share, choose a group, page or profile to share on, but then if you cancel out of it, you get the unlocked content anyway.

Pity, as this plugin is a doddle to set up and use, with no Facebook apps needed to run it from the back end.

Is there a way to get this working properly?

    Hello steveraven

This is how Contest Cat is intended to work. We find this still provides value for many users as their viewers will usually just move ahead with the share without realizing it can be bypassed. So I wouldn’t worry to much about it. We have no intention of furthering this, as it works well enough for most our users, and actually checking if the post was shared or not is quite a technical challenge.
