I do not recall wordpress having a default image viewer. I think you have installed a plugin for that. If you give me a list of the plugins you have, I can help you.

No, I was meaning the basic one. Just clicking on the image and it pops out. I also disabled all plugins except Shutter Reloaded Plus and still not working. I’m using the Mingle theme. Thanks for your answer.

Turns out the theme had a Colorbox activated by default, with no option to deactivate, except by removing the actual code registering the javascript.
I have the same problem. Can you tell me how can I remove the code? Thanks!

Search for ‘colorbox’ within the functions.php file of the theme.
