Problem with Simple Taxonomies

    I noticed a problem when working with Ultimate CSV. I use Simple Taxonomies for my tags. In the CSV file those fields are either “value1” or “value1, value2, value3…”. The taxonomies show up in the field mapping list underneath the “CF” custom fields. However, when one of these fields has multiple values the importer creates a new tag with the display name of all of the values together.

    For instance, one of my taxonomies is called “Platforms.” One of the records I uploaded had “PC, Mac, Xbox 360” (which are three distinct tags in that taxonomy). The uploader created a new tag in that taxonomy named “PC, Mac, Xbox 360”.

    Do I need to do anything special with taxonomies?

    Just curious, any help on this? I need to know whether I can use the CSV importer for the custom taxonomies, or if I need to go ahead and figure out how to upload them directly to the DB. Thank you.

    Yes, Our importer supports to import the taxonomies well. But you have to make your csv with valid format. If you need to import the “PC, Mac, Xbox 360” values as three distinct tags in your taxonomy means you have to put the separator as “|” not “,”. It should be “PC|Mac|Xbox 360”. Tags only supports “,” separator, For taxonomy “|”.
