  • Hi @smartphonology thanks for getting in touch. Would you please be able to share a recording of what you see when clicking on your embedded Story so that I understand exactly what’s happening here? You can capture the footage using a service such as Loom and share the URL here.

    Hi Adam,
    Thank you.
At the moment I can’t provide you a video of that, but when you try to see a story, you can’t exit from this. There is no option to exit but if you click on the link. Plus, when the story ends, you can’t see the next story or close the same window. If you can check on my website, you can easily open one article you prefer and check at the end of the page to views the stories published.
Thank you so much for your help, I hope I explained well what I meant.

@smartphonology After looking into this it looks like this is because clicking on the story doesn’t actually open a lightbox, it navigates to the single story URL.

The URL changes in the browser address bar and you also cannot actually click on the carousel arrows. That’s because the plugin’s JavaScript files https://www.smartphonology.it/wp-content/plugins/web-stories/assets/js/lightbox.js and https://www.smartphonology.it/wp-content/plugins/web-stories/assets/js/carousel-view.js are not being loaded on your page for some reason. This is likely due to a plugin or theme conflict.

To check this I would suggest manually disabling your plugins one by one and checking your Stories between to see if at any point they are fixed. If so then you have found the source of the conflict. I’d also recommend switching your theme temporarily to a default theme such as Twenty Twenty also to see if the conflict is coming from your sites theme. Let me know how these checks go for you

    Hi Adam,
I tried as you adviced, but I did not find any difference. I have to try with the theme, but it’s not easy, with a lot of traffic.

@smartphonology Thanks for the update and let me know how this goes with the theme.

@smartphonology Did you manage to test with a different theme?

Hi, thank you for your comment, but nothing changed 🙁

@smartphonology Sorry to hear that. Could you please share your Site Health Information which you can do via this private form and I can take a look to see if anything stands out here. Please also include your Hosting provider on the form.

Hi Adam, thank you so much, I sent data you requested.
    Have a nice day,

    Best,
    Roberto

@smartphonology I am unable to see anything that stands out here from the data you have shared. As mentioned above, it looks like this is because clicking on the story doesn’t actually open a lightbox, it navigates to the single story URL. SInce this doesn’t appear to be a theme or plugin conflict I’d suggest checking in with your hosting provider to see if they can spot anything here.

Let me know the outcome of this and we can continue to troubleshoot if no resolution is found.
