There is the chance there is another plugin having a conflict with NextGen AND your new theme. Nextgen gallery works fine on its own.
Try deactivating all plugins except for Nextgen Gallery and see if that fixes the issue. If it does, then start reactivating one plugin at a time and checking if the issue reappears. If it does it was caused by the last plugin you activated.
If the above does not work, it is some issue wit your theme, since as you mentioned all was fine before you installed it.

Sorry but that’s not the problem ….
I have another page that is the same and the common plugin is netxgen, I have deactivated all plugins and the problem keeps happening … if I activate all and deactivate the nextgen it works ….

I’m so sorry, but this has never been reported before.
It’s truly unusual — especially that black background.
Let’s try the following.
1.- Remove and reinstall our plugin.
2.- Deactivate all plugins.
3.- Choose a default WordPress theme.
Does the problem persist?
Please, keep us posted. If it’s an existing issue we might need to escalate this back to the developers.
Note: Also, a good recommendation will be for you to clean cache, check if there is any styling being done by your hosting provider on your dashboard.
