Problem with “Subtle” theme, broken footer

I am using the “subtle” theme ( http://blog.gluedideas.com/ ) and am having an inconsistant but substantial problem with the occasional post.

I am having a problem figuring out why my template is breaking and pushing the footer to the top on these two pages:

Note that it doesnt happen on the single post pages except as mentioned below.

It does happen on one category page (http://fitfare.net/category/international-fare/african/) but not the others (even if its a child cat) i.e: http://fitfare.net/category/announcements/ (one difference is no ads but I have ads on other pages that do not break)

Archive pages render fine

the single post page for one of the posts (but not others) is messed up in another way… the sidebar is fractured all over the bottom

Plenty of the other blogs in the network (http://wellfed.net/) function fine. I have compared the files between functioning blogs and the ones above and see no difference. I also have been looking at recent posts in HTML and do not see how they are causing the failure.

I hope you all have experience busting this particular issue.
