    Hi,

First of all thanks for the great plugin! We started to have weird behavior with our the Events Calendar -plugin couple weeks ago (https://theeventscalendar.com). Something broke the pagination system in the list view of our events, and after painstaking testing process we finally found that the PPWP plugin was causing this. We didn’t succeed to find out why it started behaving like that, but for some reason PPWP broke the pagination of the Events Calendar. That could be something to look into in depth as the Events Calendar is widely used, and maybe others are facing some problems also.

    Hi @jkpasanen,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

To assist you better, could you please provide the following:

    1. A screencast or screenshot of the issue you are facing.
    2. A sample protected page and test password for us to review.
    3. May I know why you believe our plugin is causing the issue? For example, did deactivating our plugin resolve the problem?
    4. A copy of the debug.log file for us to check.

In the meantime, our team is working on reproducing the issue on our staging site by installing PPWP and Events Calendar to check.

    Awaiting your reply.

Thanks for reply and sorry for a slow answer.

    1. Please check it yourself from here https://staging.tamperehelluntai.fi/tapahtumat/ (sorry about the ssl-cerificate. I didn’t have time to set a specific certificate for this staging site). When you try to go to the next page of the Events calendar list view, it starts to show events from year 2023 instead of the current ones. This doesn’t occur if you are logged in, and usually reloading the page shows the correct ones.
    2. We don’t use protection on those events at all, but only in one completely different page in one area.
    3. If we disable PPWP, the events calendar list view pagination works normally.
    4. Sorry, can’t send it now, but will do later if needed.

    Hi @jkpasanen,

No problem, and thank you for the information.

Upon checking your staging site, it appears that the page didn’t reload; it simply sent an HTTP POST request when you navigated to the next page. And that request also meets error below.

    wp-json/tribe/views/v2/html

    {"code":"rest_missing_callback_param","message":"Param\u00e8tre(s) manquant(s)\u00a0: url","data":{"status":

Could you please navigate to Password Protect WordPress > Advanced tab from your admin dashboard and check if the “Unlock Protected Content without Page Refresh” option is enabled? If it is, could you disable it and check if it works?

Are you using any cache service? Could you help to turn it off and check if it works too please?

    Awaiting your reply.

Thanks for you reply again. I checked that Advanced tab, and that option is not enabled and enabling or disabling it doesn’t change the functionality. Another thing is that on that PPWP Settings page there is the following alert on top of the page:

” Warning: The Events Calendar REST API endpoints are not accessible! This may be due to a server configuration or another plugin blocking access to the REST API.
Please check with your hosting provider or system administrator to ensure that the below is accessible: https://staging.tamperehelluntai.fi/wp-json/tribe/events/v1

This alert is not shown on any other page in the admin area than the PPWP settings and The Events Calendar settings. That URL is accessible at least after you have accepted the SSL certificate in your browser, but the certificate might be the reason for that error as I don’t recall seeing that on our production site when the problem was occurring, and also it doesn’t disappear from the The Events Calendar settings if I disable PPWP.

We don’t have any extra caching plugins, services or setups on our site.

    Hi @jkpasanen,

    Thank you for the information.

We’re working on reproducing the issue on our staging site and will check if it’s possible. We’ll get back to you soon.

Could you double-check with your hosting server to see if the Events Calendar REST API is being blocked by them? The error suggests that it also might be an issue with the hosting server.

In the meantime, if you have any additional information or a debug.log file to share, please provide it via our PPWP Contact Form so we can review it more quickly.

    Awaiting your reply.
