we are having issue saving table press. It gives s the following error:

“Attention: Unfortunately, an error occurred. There was a problem with the server, HTTP response code 500 ().”

I have reached out to our provider NETWORK SOLUTIONS and they have responded with this message:
“Thank you for contacting Network Solutions. We are committed to creating the best experience for you.
Tips for troubleshooting error: Try clearing the cache (browsing history) then close your browser and re-open the browser. Try a different browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. If this do not fix the issue reachout to TablePress. I hope this information has been helpful. We appreciate your business!

clearing cache/history and trying different browsers haven’t help.
any idea how to fix it?

We are currently using Table Press Version 2.1.1 and we do not have premium. Please help!

    Thank you!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

The HTTP response code 500 indicates an “Internal Server Error”. Common reasons for this are e.g. that certain resource limits are reached, like the PHP memory limit.

Details should be in your server’s error log file. You might be able to find that via FTP, or otherwise the web host’s support team should be able to provide this.

Once we know more about what that server issue is, we can look into how to resolve it.

    Regards,
    Tobias

I have login files, where could I send them?

    Hi,

is there anything unusual in the log files?

The best way should be to copy/paste the relevant portions to e.g. https://codefile.io/ and post the link here.

    Tobias

I think I figured out the way around the issue since Network Solutions was not willing to help. I was able to finally unhide the “pink” hidden rows they appeared out of the blue. Here is the link copy from the codefile link you sent, I hope I copied it right
    https://codefile.io/f/SQNRBtDmjUsnWwH5jY07

There were mostly messages like this:
    “File does not exist”

    and couple like this
    “mod_fcgid: ap_pass_brigade failed in handle_request_ipc function”

    Thank you!

    Hi,

indeed, those pink/red color on the rows means that they are marked as “hidden”. Good to hear that you found this and could unhide them already.

Those lines from the error log file don’t contain relevant information though, I think. The “File not found” issues deal with static files (the icon and a text file for search engines). Those other ones sound very technical, and I’m not sure what they mean, but very likely they have unrelated causes. Or do these appear with timestamp close close to the times when you edited the table?

Now, and just to confirm: Is everything working again as expected or does the error persist?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hello Tobias
we had this issue in the past, when some rows all of a sudden turned PINK and we contacted our previous provider. It was giving us AJAX error and their tech support was able to adjust server settings and that fixed it, but with each server updates issue came back. Unfortunately we had to move our website to a different provider and we started to have same issues. First we were receiving AJAX error and now (after I updated to 2.1.1. we started getting response code 500 () error.
I have figured out that I can “unhide” problem rows, but I have to edit something in one of the rows that is visible before saving. It seems to fix the problem with the newest version of TablePress. I was not able to do that in previous version and lines remained pink.
NOTE: time stamps were from before I tried to edit the table

    Hi,

good to hear that it’s working again! Unfortunately, I don’t know what exactly could be causing this, but if their tech support could fix it, this hints that the database was maybe involved.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

Network Solutions tech support has no clue, I was just lucky what I tried worked. NS response was:
“Try a different browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer. If this do not fix the issue reachout to TablePress.”

    Hi,

ah, sorry for the confusion. Yes, that reply from them is not really helpful at all. Great to hear that you found a way though!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
