Problem with Themes
-
I have created a new domain (purchased with GoDaddy) and am hosting the site on Hostgator.
On Hostgator’s cpanel, I downloaded WordPress (5.5.1) using their Softaculous system.
So far so good. I type the domain name into the Chrome bar and I can see my website ie the usual ‘Hello World’ page.
I log into the site WordPress site (www.example.com/wp-admin) and try to download another Theme.
This is where my problems start.
I click on ‘Appearance>Theme’ and then ‘Add New’. Usually I would be greeted with a list of different themes to choose from. Instead I don’t see any.
I’ve then tried to Customize one of the pre-installed Themes. Yet when I go to do this, I don’t see any of the usual menu options.
I really don’t know why this is happening. I’ve used WordPress for another site and never had this problem.
Hostgator don’t want to know and say they don’t offer software support.
Any ideas?
