Problem with URL and deleted post
-
I’m managing a blog that is on a pretty old version – 2.1. Here’s the issue. I have permalinks enabled. I placed a number of posts as drafts and after a few weeks I launched the blog and published all the draft posts. The one I wanted to display at the top was actually at the bottom. So I copied the HTML, deleted the post, then placed a new post with the same title and published it. I didn’t notice that it attached a “-2” to the post URL until after I had published it. Now, no matter how many times I edit the post URL to remove the “-2” it switches back. It will initially show me that it is saved without the “-2”. But when I go to check the post live I find it with the “-2”.
Here’s the stubborn post: http://www.livingcrafts.com/blog/general/living-crafts-the-blog-2 and it has multiple comments.
I’ve also found that the post does exist at the URL I want it to be at: http://www.livingcrafts.com/blog/general/living-crafts-the-blog
It has no comments. But the weird thing here is that that post does not display in the admin Posts area to edit it.
How can I get rid of this http://www.livingcrafts.com/blog/general/living-crafts-the-blog and keep http://www.livingcrafts.com/blog/general/living-crafts-the-blog-2 but change it to drop the -2 from the URL?
Thanks. :o)
