did you check user capabilities edit_recurring_events or edit_events at Events > Settings > General > User Capabilities ?
That’s strange… what about publish_recurring_events? A screenshot of your capabilities may be helpful
I have them all checked just to see if it would work.
Any ideas?
just to narrow down the problem, have you tried to temporarily:
– deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems
also, did you enable Settings > General > Event Submission Forms > Allow anonymous event submissions?
I deactivated all plugins and tried it and it didnt work. I also changed the theme to Twenty Eleven and tried it and it didnt work.
also, did you enable Settings > General > Event Submission Forms > Allow anonymous event submissions? This is also enabled.

I just tested submitting a recurring event and seems to be working; is the problem when submitting another one and while logged in?
I am logged out and tried to submit a recurring event and it didn’t work?
If you set a different user under the Guest Default User does that help?
I created an anonymous user and it didn’t work? Where do I set Guest Default User just to make sure? This is driving me crazy!

could it be because you have a caching plugin?
No.
I have tried on every browser ie firefox chrome my iphone and my ipad and it will not let me or the owner of the site which lives in a different city then me submit a recurring event? Are you submitting a recurring event or a single event which it will work for a single event not a recurring event.
i get an unauthorized message.
can you paste a screenshot of your Settings > General > Event Submission Forms section?
