Problem with Yoast
-
Hi guys,
I accidently installed Elementor while using Yoast and after that I experienced a lot of problems in my website.
For example I have problem with the meta description, with the photos (while posting in my facebook page) etc.
Could you please help me regarding this matter.

We’re sorry you’re having trouble with appearing meta description on the Facebook preview. We’d like to look a closer look.
Upon checking the this example post via Facebook debugging tool the Facebook preview appears fine. See the screenshot https://prnt.sc/23ojv6g. Regarding description not appearing in the preview is expected when post title is long and goes to second line as you can see in the screenshot.
Hi again,
I experienced some problems, when I tried to make a post in facebook (ignore the last message, I already fix the bugs, that occurred because of the Elementor).
I try to make a post in facebook from my website and although I add a photo, it don’t appear in the news feed afterwards.
Facebook debbugger tool leave this message: The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Could you please help me?
Hi @mokobs
Upon checking that post in Facebook’s Sharing Debugger Tool here, we do see that the image in the preview is loading as expected. Could you check if you are still getting errors or warnings that an
og:imageisn’t specified? Because we checked the page source and we do see the open graph tags being output.Hi, right now I don’t get any errors, but still the correct photo don’t apply right away.
I’m curios because for example a hour later, when I try to share the publication in facebook the correct photo appear…
Here is an example. I could show you photos, regarding this example, but I couldn’t add it in my answer.
Regards.
Hi, even the photo is correct, first in og:image there is another one (the default one, which is added, when facebook don’t detect any photo). I saw it in facebook debbuger. After a while the problem is solved, but I must wait at least one hour for that.
@mokobs Thanks for your reply.
We reviewed your page’s source code (see image here) and see the og:image specified as being output as the following:
<meta property="og:image" content="https://football24.bg/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/welcfer.jpg" /> <meta property="og:image:width" content="1280" /> <meta property="og:image:height" content="720" />In addition, we checked the page in the Facebook Sharing Debugger Tool here and again see that
og:imagespecified in the source code matches what is shown in the debugger tool (see image here). If you are seeing unexpected behavior or appearance for one of your site’s social previews when sharing it on social media, this can be caused by the social media site caching old metadata for that page. This is why you may not immediately see the new values you set up for the page reflected in the page’s preview when you share it (image, title, description, etc).
To resolve this, we would first recommend to try checking your page’s link using Facebook’s Sharing Debugger tool and under ‘When and how we last scraped the URL’ clicking the ‘Scrape Again’ option and letting us know whether this resolves the issue? The ‘Scrape Again’ option will force Facebook to update it’s cache for your page’s link.
Please note that to successfully update the cache it may require re-scraping your page several times as whether the page’s data can be read may take several requests between Facebook and the server your website is hosted on. Also, this guide includes more information on this and explains in detail how to do this: What to do when Facebook sharing is not working correctly.
Yesterday I added an an article is published and I checked it in facebook debugger option. I saw that the og:image is different, although in my website the og:image tag is correct.
As I mentioned the interesting part is that after an hour…The og:image in the debbuger is correct…
I suppose the problem is with the facebook scraper.
<meta property=”og:image” content=”https://football24.bg/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/obshti-2.jpg”>
This is the problem here..
in the site code this tag is different, but in facebook debugger is always wrong.
Hi @mokobs
Could you provide us with the URL of this page with that
og:imagetag that you’ve provided?Just to clarify, you publish a new post, the og:image tag in the page source is correct, but when you run it through Facebook’s Sharing Debugger Tool, it shows the incorrect image until after about an hour later? Is that correct?
Hi,
When viewing that URL, the og:image tag is set to https://football24.bg/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/lukaku2021.jpg.
If, upon publishing, when you view the page source and it already has the correct og:image tag, then that means the Yoast SEO plugin output is working as expected. We aren’t exactly sure why Facebook would show a different output in the sharing debugger tool, but you may have to investigate further if it’s an issue with caching or something else.
The problem is resolved. Thanks.
Hi,
We’re glad to hear that the problem is resolved. We’ll be setting this forum thread to closed.
Thank you!
