• We are using Total Cache plugin for cdn hosting of images. I noticed that when we re-crop the images their filenames do not change. This becomes problematic for the cdn because then we have to manually invalidate them for them to update.

What do you think about adding an md5 hash to the image filename after every crop. This way everytime it gets updated on the cdn it wont require invalidation?

(I believe this is default behavior for editing attachments)

  • I too have run into this issue. Adding an option to update the filename after a crop would be perfect.
