Problems Adding/Editing/Trashing Pages

I’ve been having some issues every time I try to publish, edit or trash a page. My hosting site I believe is about tired of me and have sent me a few warning emails of excessive resource usage. The problem that I have is when I choose to “Publish” my browser keeps chugging away. I then get a “Cannot connect to Database” after a few minutes.

I’m running WordPress 2.9.1. One thing that I tried was to disable all of my plugins. After I did this I didn’t have the problem and new pages posted immediately. I started re-enabling the plugins one at a time and kept trying to post a page and didn’t have any issues. Then all of a sudden I started having the problem again but it wasn’t after installing any particular plug-in. I’ve uninstalled all of them and everything seems okay again.

One suspect plug-in that I use is WPG2. I have a rather extensive Gallery2 installation on my site that I really like having accessible right from WordPress. Has anyone else had any issues like this?
