Hi. I’ve just updated the Astra theme on my website, but now I am not allowed to change the Theme Functions anymore (functions.php). I have just two simple php codes which I have used for the last couple of years without a problem, but now it seems that I am not allowed to do any changes to the Theme Functions whatsoever. Does anyone know something about this? PS. I am not an experienced web developer!

You should not make individual adjustments to the functions.php of the theme. Instead, create a child theme for this purpose. See: https://developer.ww.wp.xz.cn/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/

The theme you have chosen, Astra, also provides a generator for this: https://wpastra.com/child-theme-generator/

I would recommend that you contact their support forum if you have any questions: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/theme/astra/

Alternatively, you can also insert the individual codes with a code snippet plugin like this one: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/code-snippets/

@threadi Thank you so much! I have considered a child theme before, but since my php code is very limited, I have not had any problem with it before now. I will check your recommendations, much appreciated 🙂
