To see the author name and not the author id you need to enable permalinks:
http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Using_Permalinks
You also should update the site at //http://www.uff.br/ppgcom/
I have not seen a forum user using such outdated software in a very long time…
Hey Seacoast Web Design
Thank you very much for your answer. But I think I was misunderstood.
What I actually tried to say is the I want my users profile link to point to their [id] and not to their name. If you enter this page:
http://www.uff.br/ppgcom/novosite/?page_id=178
you’ll see that every profile link is pointing to
http://www.uff.br/ppgcom/novosite?author_name
when they should be pointing to
http://www.uff.br/ppgcom/novosite/?author=%5Bid%5D
just as the correct profiles are showing:
http://www.uff.br/ppgcom/novosite/?author=3
So I do not understand where the problem is. Can you help me?
BTW, thanks for the sugestion. Actually I was contacted just to update this site and create a new theme. That’s why I’m hosting it for a moment in /novosite 😉
I could dig deep into a theme hosted here, but your theme is not, it is a commercial theme, which I do not have access to, and is unsupported here.

Yes. You’re right. It’s a commercial theme called GrandCollege from ThemeForest. And I’ll try to have some support from them also.
But I’m pretty convicted that the trouble refers not to the theme but either to the plugin authoravatars or to a specification from my host’s .htaccess or something. (For you to understand, there’s a rule that doesn’t allow me to use permalinks for my pages/users. And this maybe one possible cause for this problem, IMHO.)
Thanks a lot.
Hi
I found the problem, although I don’t know what really causes it.
Apparently, plugins Author Avatars and CoAuthor Plus have some uncompatibilities. When I activate the last one, Author Avatars starts to point to wrong links.
