Hi @csdaavid,
That’s strange! I have not seen this behaviour before, so I need some more information. Somebody else just reported problems with WP Tiles loaded in a subdirectory install; is your WP a subdirectory install?
If not, can you please tell me if you see any errors in web inspector? You can find them like this:
In FireFox or Chrome: Open the page and right-click anywhere on the page. Select Inspect Element. In the panel that opens, go to ‘Console’. Reload the page, and check for any errors coming up (in red).
Let me know if you see any errors, then we can get to the bottom of this!
Cheers,
Mike
Hi Mike!
Yes, I think it’s in a subdirectory install. Is there a way to solve this?
BTW, when I click to the editor tabs and try to switch the following error comes up in the console: Uncaught ReferenceError: switchEditors is not defined.
Another problem when wp-tiles is active: the color of the text in the editor’s text field is white (so it’s invisible).
Hi again! This is very, very odd. I have set up an extra test install of WP Tiles in a subdirectory, and everything is working as it should.
Are you sure the problem is isolated to WP Tiles? Do you have any other plugins that interfere with the post editor or load a TinyMCE editor on the post screen? (I’m thinking qTranslate, Yoast SEO, ACF, etc.)
Mike
Hi Mike!
I’m sure. I turned off all the plugins except WP Tiles and it didn’t solve the problem. When WP tile is inactive everything is OK. I changed theme, but it didn’t help either.
I forgot to mention one important thing: when I first updated the plugin from 0.x to 1.0 it worked, the problems started after another update.
Hi @csdaavid,
Thanks for getting back so quickly. To be honest, I’m stumped. I just went through all the changes since 1.0 and there doesn’t seem to be anything that could affect the admin area.. have you tried resetting WP Tiles back to the default settings in the admin panel? (I don’t know why this would fix anything, but it’s worth a shot)
Sorry I still don’t have a fix for this! I’ll run some more tests to see if I can find the issue.. I’ll post back here if I find anything of use, but at the moment I’m stabbing in the dark.
Cheers,
Mike
Thanks, Mike!
Unfortunatelly the reset didn’t work.
Hey Mike! I don’t give up. 🙂
Just found this thread: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/10-plugin-causes-white-text-in-post-editor-no-buttons-saves-settings?replies=12#post-5861897
I think my problem is the same, because I have huge amount of posts too. I’d like to try that fixed version of wp-tiles you uploaded to GitHub, but that is unavailable. Could you upload it again? I hope it will work and I can use your fantastic plugin again. 🙂
Thanks!
For people following this thread or coming in with the same problem: we identified what caused the problem (large amount of tags and users) and it is fixed as per v1.1.
