Problems with keeping “sorted state”

    I have problems with keeping the “sorted state” of posts in backend.

    When I am first opening the re-orderPost-event-page my posts (custom post type/custom taxonomy) are sorted by date DESC.
    I activate manual sorting (radio button = yes / override ‘orderby’ = checked) and rearrange some post. In Frontend this leads to the new order … so far so good.

    But when I am reopening admin-page and selecting the appropriate taxonomy then sorting (which I made before) has gone … default sort order by date is active again.

    I didn’t click “reset order”-Btn.
    No Javascript-Errors in console. WP and Plugin is uptodate

    I did make some further investigations …

    I installed the plugin on a new, naked wordpress-instance (different hosting provider).
    Manuell sorting (and output in frontend) is working.
    But reopening reorder-page or even just switching back from another browser-tab is setting this back to initial order.

    Strange behaviour ….

    is this with the latest version 2.10.3?

    if so can you downgrade to 2.10.2 and let me know if the issue persists?

    it’s working just fine for me with v2.10.3. order is maintained in the amdin as well as the front-end.

    But when I am reopening admin-page and selecting the appropriate taxonomy then sorting (which I made before) has gone … default sort order by date is active again.

    is the order reset to by date in the front-end as well?

    can you try switching to the default WP theme, say twentytwenty, and check if the order is maintained in the admin page?

    thank you for very much for your fast support

    – a switch to twenty-twenty-theme had no effect -> order reset in frontend and backend
    – a switch to 2.9.4 plugin version (I am struggling with 2.10.2) did it -> order is maintaining in frontend and backend

    If I reupdate to 2.10.3 order reset happens again ;-(

    2.10.4 is working as expected -> there is no order reset.

    I didn’t/can’t downgrade to 2.10.2 -> I just found 2.9.4

    But in latest version 2.10.4 everything is ok.
    In my point of view this thread can be marked as resolved.
