Hi team, we are facing problems with LISTING RENEWALS. Our listing expire after 90 days and we want that companies can renew their listings since the day after publishing their job offers. We have configurated 89 days, as the offers expire after 90 days, as per your feedback at your site:

By default, users can renew their listing 5 days before expiry. The Renewal Window can be set to 0 to completely disable the feature.

So, we undertand that if we change those 5 days, for 89 days, companies should see the RENEW option in their listings the day after publishing, but its not working, we check all companies and they cannot renew the day after, the week after and so, untill many weeks after.

Here is an image and as you can see, we have configured for example the expiry in 90 days and the renew option instead of 89 days as isn´t working, to 90 days to see if it worked, but either, it doesn´t show the renew option: https://imgur.com/TtA9vPl

How could we solve this please? Thanks for your time and attention.

One more thing, we too do not have the REPUBLISHING option available, so if companies do not have the RENEW option and/or the REPUBLISH option available, they cannot update their job offers to be on the top of the jobs listings whey they need and this is because we have plently of job offers published daily and so, if for example a company publishes a job offer today, tomorrow can be in third page of the site, so they receive less candidatures, so we really need that they can renew or republish their listings from one day to other, so they can come back to first posstion on jobs listing.

Can we know what is the renewal window set on your site? Did you try to clear any server caching if there is server caching involved?

I was unable to reproduce this issue. I was able to get the renew listing option when I set my site to 30 days renewal window:

Could you provide us with an exact config on how we can reproduce this issue?

Could you try these steps to temporarily disable all plugins and revert to a default theme?

    1. Install Health Check plugin on your site
    2. Download and install Twenty Twenty-Five on your site if not installed already
    3. Go to Installed Plugins. Click Troubleshoot on WP Job Manager
    4. Try viewing the Job Dashboard
    5. Once you are done, go back to wp-admin and disable troubleshooting mode through the top bar.

Hi @dericleeyy, thanks for the feedback. We have gone thru all instrutions provided and left only WPJM activated for testing as required. No errors where found at the plugin.

The exact config is: we go to WPJM Configuration > Job Submission tab in the Job Listing settings and there we configure job listin to expire in 90 days. Then we move foward to Renew Listing 89 days before expiry. But doesn´t work. Indeed it works in job offers published, but when it wants, I mean the button appears in some cases after a few weeks, but not the day after published the job offer, as we have configured 89 days before expiry (as job offers expire in 90 days) and we need to provide our clientes that they can renew job offers since the day after the have published.

Thanks, maybe there is a code that we could implement…or something to make this work? As I thing, WPJM withdrew the option to REPUBLISH, not sure, as it doesn´t appear sin last importat update.

    Hi @ibiza69

Thanks for sharing the exact configuration. I wasn’t able to reproduce your issue on my test site.

To test this I set the listing duration to 90 and the renewal window to 89: https://d.pr/i/mrtYLM, just like your configuration. I then created two jobs. I did not see the “Renew” button right away, which makes sense because of the renewal window, but after one day of creating them I was able to see the “Renew” button: https://d.pr/i/2M0dr3.

On my test site I’m using the Twenty Twenty Five theme and I only have WP Job Manager main plugin and add-ons activated (except for WP Job Manager – Simple Paid Listings because I already have activated WP Job Manager – WooCommerce Paid Listings) and the WooCommerce plugin.

Since this is something we are unable to reproduce, I would suggest creating a staging site and testing disabling plugins that are not related to WP Job Manager and add-ons, and changing to default WordPress themes. You could try WP Staging or Duplicator:

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-staging/

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/duplicator/

If you have custom code, I would also suggest to remove it and see if the issue gets resolved.

Thank you for all your feedback, we tested the staging site as we always have duplicated staging sites from our main sites. We tested with all plugins deactivated as you recommended, default wordpress theme and only WPJM plugin activated. We have no custom codes applied.

We will try to find a solution, as we cannot do much more for now after following your instructions and couldn´t find the problem. We have thousands of users in our main sites so these cannot be affected for example starting all over again as if they where new sites, as we use WPMJ since 9 years ago. We either do not work with cache plugins at all, because they do not fit with our site plugins. So we are for now lost untill we think what problem could it be.

Thank you once more for your time and help dedicated.

@ibiza69 I’m sorry we haven’t been able to find the cause here. Have you tried starting with a brand new site just to set up a simple test and see if you still get the same behaviour? That may help to remove all other variables and clarify what is causing the issue.

    (@ibiza69)

Thank you @drawmyface, we have set the renewal date to 180 days instead of 89 days, as job offers expire in 90 days and it works perfect, companies can renew their job offers correctly at anytime they need….

It’s very rare for it to work with a negative quantity, higher than an offer’s expiration date, but… it works, and it saves us from having to create everything from scratch just to test that feature in a subdomain and staging site.

All the other features of the plugin (WPJM) work perfectly; the only one that gave us problems was this one. It’s frankly very rare.

We also appreciate all your time and dedication. Thanks Dan!

@ibiza69 We also thank you for reporting back with the workaround you found! It can help other folks who might run into a similar issue. Thanks again, and I’ll go ahead and mark this thread as resolved for now.
