Problems with navigation

Hi. I am using this plugin on my homepage and it is wonderful. However, I am experiencing some problems with navigation:
1. The previous navigation text is not showing at all so I cannot go back unless I press a page number. Only next is showing. I have activated normal pagination.
2. The highlight of the navigation numbers to show the page I am in is not highlighting and I have to check the URL of the browser search bar to know which page I am in.
