my htaccess file is empty

    Hi All
    I really can’t understand why I only have this on my htaccess file.

    # BEGIN WordPress
    # END WordPress

    The wordpress is installed on a subdomain.
    My links don’t work either-

    visit your site’s dashboard and go to the permalinks section and reserve the settings there and that “should” rebuild your .htaccess file for you…

    I have tried that but it’s not working do you have other solutions or idees what it could be?
    coud it be because of the subdomain or?
