Problems with WordPress 4.0
-
I have just upgraded to gce 2.0.2 but still have a problem which came to light a few days back when I moved to WordPress 4.0 I was using gce on our church homepage: http://www.stthomasstluke.org.uk/ If I use gce in the 2nd column to display up and coming events then this results in the wrong RH sidebar being displayed. As a workaround, I am using a direct feed from google calendar to get around the problem but would like to return to using gce asap.

So it is just displaying the widget in the incorrect sidebar that you choose in the admin setting?
I am assuming that you got this resolved since you haven’t posted back here. If there are any other issues please let me know.
Thanks!
Nick, as of version 2.0.3.1 the problem was still there. I am currently away from home and haven’t yet had the chance to try it with the latest version and won’t be able to do so for another week yet. Let me come back to you in a week or so. If the problem is still there I will also send some screenshots to illustrate the problem.
Ok thanks for the updates. I will look forward to seeing what you find.
Thanks!
Nick, I have just checked things out and the problem is still there. I have updated to 2.0.5.1 before running these tests. If I include this code:
[google-calendar-events id=”1″ type=”list-grouped” title=”” max=”12″]
in the 2nd column of our web page then the wrong RH sidebar is displayed, WordPress displays the sidebar used on all subpages see for example: http://www.stthomasstluke.org.uk/aboutus/sundays/ However, our homepage has its own unique sidebar. Everything works fine if I replace the gce code with a direct feed, see: http://www.stthomasstluke.org.uk/So are you putting the shortcode into a text widget or something similar or are you actually using the GCE widget that is provided with the plugin?
Nick, the code is in a text box. I am happy to try the GCE widget if you wish.
Nick I have just updated to version 2.0.7 and this problem still exists.
Nick a couple of days ago I fixed the problem. I noticed from the web pages that the shortcode syntax was different from the previous version. Making everything consistent with the new syntax fixed the issue.
Great glad to hear you got it working!
