Problems with Yoast SEO Polylang

    At first I would like to say that your plugin adds great value to business web pages and helps in localization. Thank you!

    I have:
    Wordpress Version 4.4.2,
    theme is Twenty Eleven Version 2.3,
    Yoast SEO plugin Version 3.1.1,
    Polylang plugin Version 1.8.4.

    When Polylang and Yoast SEO plugins are activated, I can’t access and edit my Pages… I see only white screen when try to open section with all Pages.
    When Polylang plugin is deactivated (and Yoast SEO is active), everything is working and I can access all Pages.
    When Polylang plugin is active (and and Yoast SEO is deactive), more or less everything works and there are only some small bugs. For example, I can’t edit one of my Pages (when I try to edit it, I can’t see the text and there is no text formatting panel), I can’t customize Appearance etc.

    This is the first time I have tried to use combination of Polylang and Yoast SEO plugins.

    What could be the reason? Should this combination work?
    Is there any solution?

    For me it is very important to use both plugins.

    I tested with Yoast SEO (3.1.1) + Polylang (1.8.4) + Twenty Sixteen (1.1) and I didn’t reproduce your issue.

    Could you deactivate all your plugins, and test with only Polylang and Yoast Seo?
    If it works, could you activate your plugins one by one to find which one is causing this issue?

    Results of my test:

    Only Polylang + Yoast SEO =
    I can access Pages section.
    I still can’t edit one Page (can’t see formatting tools).
    I can access Appearance and choose Customize.
    But, when I want to select randomize uploaded headers (2 images), no header will appear at all. There is allowed only one header.

    Only Polylang + Yoast SEO + Contact Form 7 (4.4) =
    I can see section with all Pages, but I can’t edit them (I can’t see formatting tools and in some cases- there is white screen).

    0 plugins active = 0 problems.
    1 plugin active (Yoast SEO) = 0 problems.
    1 plugin active (Polylang) = can’t randomize headers, but can edit that one Page.
    1 plugin active (Contact Form 7) = 0 problems.

    For me it looks that there is conflict between Polylang and Yoast SEO + maybe other plugins.

    Did you try this (Polylang FAQ) ?: “The random header image of Twenty Eleven does not work:
    Most probably you uploaded the images and did not translate them. You have to either translate the images in all languages or de-activate the languages and translations management of media in Polylang settings.”

    I still can’t edit one Page (can’t see formatting tools).

    Hello

    I am having the same problem, Avada, Yoast 3.1.1, Polylang 1.8.4
    loaded polylang after months of no problem use of site.
    Everything worked for a few days, then white screen of death
    but only in the admin area,the site its self worked fine and you can login, just no access to the backend. very strange I like the whole set up and would like to keep it, I have polylang deactivated curently
    and had to clean out .htaccess.
    Why does it effect htaccess, thats where the problem lies. because after white screen, deactivate polylang, rename htaccess, create new one and you get access back.

    any fixes for this?

    1) Page with problems (formatting tools are not shown + text is hidden (WP says there are 0 words in this Page but you can see where is the text hidden)):

    I took the latest Yoast update but no changes. All problems remain.
