“Product Data” Section not Responding

    On the “Edit Products” page, scroll down to the “Product Data” section (the one where you can choose if it’s a simple product/variable/grouped/etc. We can add information to the boxes present, but if we try and click on any of the options to the left we can’t click on them – no spinning happens as if nothing is loading as if it’s a dead link. The options are the – “General”, “Inventory”, “Shipping” etc. on the left.

    I see there are a few situations where it could be a plug-in. But I’m hesitant to click things.

    • Try a different browser. This helps identify if it’s browser-specific.
    • Disable browser extensions temporarily. Ad blockers or other extensions can sometimes interfere.
    • Check your browser’s console for JavaScript errors (press F12, go to Console tab, then try clicking the tabs).
    • Since you mentioned suspecting plugins, the safest way to test this is to deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and test if the tabs work. If they do, reactivate plugins one by one to identify the culprit.
    • Switch temporarily to a default theme (like Twenty Twenty-Four) to see if your current theme is causing the conflict.

      Thank you for your suggestions, I tried all except for the temporary theme – Not sure how to do that.

      A few times, since our internet isn’t fantastic, the page wouldn’t load fully and when I clicked on those aforementioned sections (General, Inventory, etc) the URL would show that I was clicking on the different sections. Not sure if that helps at all…

      Thank you for following the earlier steps and sharing that detail about the URL changing when clicking the Product Data tabs — that’s useful insight and confirms the click action is partially firing.

      Let’s take the next step by testing with a default theme to see if the issue is theme-related. Please go to Appearance → Themes and activate either the Storefront theme or Twenty Twenty-Four theme. This won’t affect your site content and is just a safe way to check if your current theme is causing the conflict.

      Once you’ve done that, refresh your product edit page and test whether the Product Data tabs (General, Inventory, Shipping, etc.) respond correctly.

      If the problem continues even with a default theme, the next step will be to run a plugin conflict test. You can do this by deactivating all plugins except WooCommerce, then reactivating them one by one while testing the Product Data section each time. This helps pinpoint which plugin may be interfering.

      Hi,

      I’m having the same issue with the product data tabs.
      When I click on the tabs on the left, the content on the right doesn’t appear — I also can’t select the product type.

      My WooCommerce version is 10.2.2.
      I have only WooCommerce active (no other plugins).
      When I switch to a default WordPress theme, everything works fine.

      My theme is based on Sage/Roots.
