product image display issue

greetings,

i am configuring my new cart and the individual product images have started repeating (like a photo strip one gets at a photo booth) – they were working fine at first, so i have checked and rechecked all the settings i can think of but cannot figure it out. this is driving me crazy. any help would be greatly appreciated.
